Frequently asked questions

Why does macOS ask for my keychain password?

Arovia stores its activation credentials in Keychain. If macOS requests access, enter your login keychain password in the system dialog and choose Always Allow if you trust this copy of Arovia. Temporary signing means an update may ask again. This is usually your Mac login password, not your license key.

How do I open the app for the first time?

This release does not yet have a Developer ID signature or Apple notarization. Download only from this website. Move Arovia to Applications and try opening it. If macOS blocks it because the developer cannot be verified, open System Settings → Privacy & Security → Open Anyway, then confirm.

Will it run on my Mac?

Requires macOS 15 and a Mac with Apple Silicon. Speech models and Apple translation resources may need an initial download.

Which audio sources can I use?

Works with audio sources macOS allows Arovia to capture.

When does the 72-hour trial start?

Your 72-hour full-feature free trial starts after the first successful transcription or translation.

Does local processing mean everything works offline?

Speech recognition and translation run on your Mac. Arovia does not upload audio, transcripts or translations to its servers for this processing. Downloading speech models or Apple translation resources may require internet access.

Email sign-in uses your email address, verification records and a login session. Order and license services store transaction amounts, taxes, payment status, license identifiers and device binding information. We use an unreadable device identifier for license verification and to prevent repeated free-trial claims. These services do not receive your audio, transcripts or translations.
